Court:  Small claims cases are heard in the Small Claims Docket of the District Court.

Claim Limit:  $4,000.00

Attorney Representation: Attorneys can not represent clients in small claims court.

Eviction Cases:  Eviction cases can not be filed in small claims court.

Jury Trial:  Jury trials are not permitted in Kansas small claims court.

Statutes of Limitations  (Kan. Stat. Ann. § 60-501 et seq.):
– Written Contract:  5 years
– Oral Contract: 3 years
– Personal Injury: 2 years
– Real Property: 2 years
– Personal Property: 2 years
