Court: Small claims cases are filed in the Small Claims Department of the District Court.
Jurisdictional Limit: $5,000.
Answer Period: Defendant may file an answer to the complaint, or show up at the hearing.
Attorney Representation: Attorney representation is not permitted unless the judge consents.
Eviction Cases: Eviction cases cannot be filed in small claims court.
Jury Trial: Jury trials are not permitted in small claims court.
