Court: Small claims cases are heard in the Small Claims Case division of the Circuit Court.
Claim Limit: $6,000.00
Answer Period: An answer is not required (just show up for the trial).
Attorney Representation: You can be represented by an attorney in a Wyoming small claims court. If one party appears at the trial with an attorney, the other party is entitled to a continuance in order to obtain one.
Eviction Cases: Eviction cases are not allowed in small claims court.
Jury Trial: Either party may request a jury trial in small claims court.
Statutes of Limitations (Wyo. Stat. § 1-3-102 et seq.):
– Written Contract: 10 years
– Oral Contract: 8 years
– Personal Injury: 4 years
– Real Property: 4 years
– Personal Property: 4 years
